Sam Amsbaugh would make a rare appearance in the starting five for the Simpson Storm Men’s Basketball Squad and would lead the Storm to victory over Luther last night 64-61.

Amsbaugh would lead the team with 15 points, but running mate Dillon Gretzky would put in 14 while the always dependable Storm defense would allow just one Luther player to get in double digits. The win puts the Storm at 14-8 overall, and 7-4 in the Iowa Conference. The women had a tough matchup against the league leading Norse, and despite 19 points from Noreen Morrow and 16 from Mackenzie Haupt the Women would fall 71-59. The Norse would overpower the Storm defense, making 10 triples and shooting 42% overall. The women fall to 13-9 and 6-5 in the IIAC and both squads will hit the court on Saturday at home against Coe.
