The final regular season home game happens tonight for the Central women’s and men’s basketball teams when Wartburg comes to town. The Dutch ladies will be trying to break an eight-game losing streak while grabbing their second conference win of the season. They battled tough with the Knights in Waverly, but fell 69 – 54. There’s only one senior listed on the varsity roster, and that’s Shelbi Stimpson. The Central men will graduate zero varsity players after the season’s over, but they have bigger things to focus on, as they try to get back to even in the Iowa Conference and climb the ladder towards a home playoff game. Wartburg edged Central, 81 – 78 the first time around, and the Dutch hope to take better care of the basketball, as the Knights scored 21 points off of 16 Central turnovers.
