The Storm Women’s Basketball team would survive a scare from Coe College and walk away victorious 77-68 in game one of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon, the men lost 87-66.

The Storm women would have three starters in double figures lead by Maddie Bosworth with 18, Noreen Morrow would add 16 and Brittany Boland would contribute 13 points. The Storm now sit at 14-9 overall and 7-5 in the Iowa Conference which ties them at fourth with Wartburg. Despite dominating Coe on the road earlier this season, the Storm men would give up 47 first half points and not be able to recover in a blowout loss. Sam Amsbaugh would be the lone Storm player in double figures with 16 points but the normally dependable Storm defense gave up 11 triples, and allowing Coe to shoot 49% overall from the field. The Storm fall to 14-9, and 7-5 overall in the Iowa Conference which puts them in a tie for second place with Loras. Both Storm squads will next hit the court at home against Buena Vista on Wednesday.
