Teachers are moving into the new Lincoln Elementary this week.
The new facility will be ready for students and class on February 22nd, barring major delays this week. Principal Rich Schulte says many community members are stepping up to help with the transition.
Schulte says students will get to partially move in Thursday and learn about their new routines.
“During that day they will actually come over to the new building, each classroom will come over–get a chance to look at their new classroom,” he tells KNIA/KRLS. “They’ll go through general routines of ‘so which stairs do I use, which bathrooms will I use, where will my locker be?'”
Demolition at the old site will begin in March, and a water retention area next to the new facility will be completed this spring once the ground thaws.
