Following in the footsteps of Jake Wassenaar, senior tight end for the Central football team, Dutch men’s hoopster, Jordan Saddoris, will be making a trip to the NCAA men’s Division I Final Four as a member of the elite Allstate National Association of Basketball Coaches Good Works Team. The honor recognizes student-athletes for their work on, but especially off the court in helping people from all over the globe. Saddoris is one of only ten players named to the team from all division of college basketball, and he’ll be recognized with the group in Houston, Texas during the Final Four from April 2 – 4. A record 154 players were nominated for the Good Works Team, and the sophomore is the only one picked from Iowa. Wassenaar was honored at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day. Central is the only college or university in the country to have a student-athlete honored for both football and basketball this year.
