Week seven of seven in the Iowa Conference schedule begins tonight when the Central men’s and women’s basketball teams begin the Dubuque swing with a visit to Loras College. The women hung tight with the Duhawks but came up short, 77 – 54, about a month ago. The Dutch shot just 31 percent from the field in the game, and were out-grabbed on the boards, 55 – 34. After a slow first half, Central’s men picked it up and ran by Loras in their first meet-up, 72 – 61. The game is a big one as far as seeding in the Iowa Conference tournament is concerned; a win would put Central into at least third place. Coach Craig Douma says they can only control how they play on the court, so they are focused on getting the job done tonight. The women will tip-off first at 6:00 p.m. with the men to follow at 8:00.
