The Pella Opera House will see a transition in leadership this year.

Kevin McQuade has started a “phased retirement” from his position as executive director. Pella Opera House Board President Bobbie Van Vark said in a letter that McQuade’s decision to retire is so he can devote more attention to his health.

Current Director of Operations Beth Hill will extend her tenure to help with the transition, and her retirement open house on March 5th has been postponed.

McQuade will continue to be actively involved with securing his successor, ensuring this year’s renovations proceed as planned, and assisting with the launch of their next season of shows.
