Five area wrestlers would still be alive on day three of the Iowa State High School Wrestling tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

In class 1A to start the day Pleasantville would have a trio of wrestlers fighting for places in the consolation round, at 145lbs Griffin McBride would win by major decision 14-2 and claim 7th place, Sawyer Phillips would win his consolation semifinal with a 5-2 decision but fall in the 3rd place match in a close 3-1 decision and Heavyweight Will Anthony would also claim 7th place with a win by fall. In class 3A, Pella’s Keegan Poole would fall in both of his matches and wind up with a respectable 6th place among the states best grapplers. PCM’s lone grappler to make it to day three was freshman Lucas Roland who would clean up in the 7th place match winning a 4-2 decision.
