Setting a program mark for scoring as a freshman, Central women’s basketball star, Claire Marburger, was named to the Second Team All-Iowa Conference yesterday. She averaged 18.6 points per game in her first year, which was best in the league, and was sixth in rebounding with almost eight boards per contest. Marburger also swatted away 18 shots; the fourth most by any player in the Iowa Conference. Her 443 points this season is the most in program history for a freshman wearing the red and white. The Dutch will bring back their entire contingent of starters and nearly all of their bench players when they return for the 2016-17 season. They finished with a 4 – 21 overall record and a 1 – 13 conference mark.
