The City Council considered the creation of a dog park on an unused section of Auld Park Monday night.
Members of the Lion’s Club and members of the group Paws and Pals made the case for park. City officials questioned them as to the administration of the park, issuing of licenses, and checks to make sure that dog’s vaccination records are up to date. City Manager Aaron Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News the city would prefer if interested dog owners would form a non-profit to administer the park. The city would then lease the property to the non-profit for a dollar a year. The dog park issue was tabled until the next city council meeting so that the groups for the park could discuss forming a non-profit.
