Two local basketball players were selected to the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Academic All-State Team.

Pella High Senior Payson Vande Lune and PCM’s Logan Gilman were honored at Wells Fargo Arena Friday night. The players were selcted by an IBCA panel from over 150 nominees from IBCA coaches. The complete 2016 team averages a 30.1 ACT score, a 3.98 GPA, and scores 16.5 points per game.

Vande Lune will play in his final basketball game Saturday against Chariton at noon in the State Consolation Finals. The guard is average 10.6 points per game and made 35 three point baskets this season.

Gilman averaged 21.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for the Mustangs. He’s committed to play basketball at Grandview University.
