Not getting to where they wanted to be on Saturday, the Pella High boys’ basketball team still has the opportunity to conclude their 2015-16 season with a win against Chariton and a third place finish at the Class 3A state tournament this afternoon. Pella suffered only their first setback against a Class 3A opponent on Thursday, 70 – 65 to Cedar Rapids Xavier, and the Little Dutch hope their shooting heats up in their season finale; they shot just 29% from the field in the first half and 38.5% for the game. For the second straight affair, Pella made just half of their free throw attempts. Coach Jim Dingeman says the consolation game is a different beast, and hopes his Dutch come into it with the right attitude. Today’s game will be live on 92.1 KRLS, KNIAKRLS.com, and on our free mobile app. Cory Houser has the play-by-play starting at 11:35 a.m. with tip-off scheduled for 12:05 p.m.
