It’s now been 18 months since construction started at the Lake Red Rock hydroelectric project site.
Site Superintendent Vern Cochran with Missouri River Energy Services tells KNIA/KRLS News work is beginning on the construction of the actual powerhouse structure.
He says while they were delayed a bit by higher than expected water levels on the upstream side, the overall timeline has not been affected that much.
Work also continues on transmission lines to the Pella West Electric Substation.
The new hydroelectric power facility is expected to be complete by Summer 2018.
