Making the roughly three-hour trip out east, the Central men’s and women’s tennis teams came away with different results against Judson University in Moline, Illinois on Saturday. The women prevailed by a final count of 6 – 3. The two schools split the six singles matches, with Central’s victories coming at Nos. 2, 4, and 6 singles. Kari Grindberg and Anna Bowser had to win a tiebreaker in their first set before finishing the sweep in set two. The two teamed up and won via another tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles, one of three paired victories for the Dutch. Central’s men did not enjoy the same finish as the women, as they were defeated, 7 – 2. The Dutch grabbed wins from Jacob Logan at No. 4 singles in straight sets, and from the team of Logan and Tom Palmer at No. 3 doubles, 8 – 4. Both teams are off for over a week before returning to action on March 30 for a men’s/women’s doubleheader against Grand View.
