A man wanted in Polk County was apprehended in Knoxville today. Lt. Aaron Fuller with the Knoxville Police Department tells KNIA/KRLS News that an anonymous tip was received that Greg Griffith, a man with outstanding warrants for domestic abuse assault with injury among other charges, was on his way to Knoxville.
Officers searched for his vehicle before he arrived but could not locate it. After finding the vehicle outside an apartment at the old Chamber of Commerce office on Main Street, officers got permission to search, but could not find Griffith in the apartment. After noticing that a nearby apartment had signs of forced entry, officers searched that apartment as well and found Griffith hiding inside. Fuller praised the response of all law enforcement involved and noted that the manpower available made the operation safe and efficient.
