Marion County Director of Senior Nutrition Dawn Allspach-Kline says March for Meals Champions week was a great success.

She says several champions, decision makers at many levels of government, participated this week and got to see how much elders appreciate the service. She also described the benefits of the senior nutrition program, adding that the opportunity to socialize and have a support system is just as important as the food they receive. Congressman Dave Loebsack, Iowa State Senator Amy Sinclair, Knoxville City Councilman Cal Stephens and Mayor Brian Hatch all assisted in delivering meals on wheels to homebound older adults in Knoxville yesterday.
