Pella Christian High School students will bring the stories of a young teenager hiding from Nazi Germany during the holocaust to the Vermeer Auditorium stage this weekend.
The Diary of Anne Frank begins at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Gabrielle Wilson portrays the title character, and tells KNIA/KRLS News the actors on stage are working to make the pages of her diary come to life.
“If you learn about it in history, it’s harder to connect with who Anne is,” Wilson says. “I feel like this is a way the audience can actually connect with her and feel the feelings she felt when she was going through that situation.”
Reserved tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for students, and are available during school hours or at the door.
