A Pella man charged with numerous felonies entered a plea agreement and received a sentence this week.
Vincent P. Sanders pled guilty to a reduced charge of 2nd degree burglary and one count of possession of marijuana. He had two charges, including reckless use of a firearm causing bodily injury and intimidation with a dangerous weapon dismissed.
According to court records, witnesses and victims told officers Sanders entered a home on Peace Street without permission in June 2015. They say he pointed a gun at victims and a fight broke out between numerous individuals. When the altercation moved outside, Sanders pulled the trigger of the firearm, shooting and killing his dog.
Sanders received three years of probation and a suspended 10 year prison sentence.
