Chris Hulleman, class of ’93, will speak at Central College’s commencement May 14.

Hulleman is now research associate professor at the University of Virginia, co-coordinates the Motivation Research Institute and teaches as adjunct faculty member in the Department of Graduate Psychology at James Madison University.

After completing his Ph.D. in experimental social and personality psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007, Hulleman spent two years at Vanderbilt University as Institute for Education Sciences Research Fellow. In 2009, he won the Paul R. Pintrich Outstanding Dissertation Award from the American Psychological Association. Hulleman has an M.S. in social and personality psychology from University of Wisconsin-Madison, a graduate diploma from University of Western Australia and a B.A. in general studies from Central College.

In 2015, Hulleman was also named to Central’s Hall of Honor, having been part of three conference champion football squads as a student athlete. He now lives in Harrisonburg, Va., with wife Teresa McGovern Hulleman, also from the class of ’93 and their children.
