The Pella City Council met this week at their regularly scheduled meeting to approve the contract for the Washington Street reconstruction.

City administrator Mike Nardini says the $877,000 project from East 1st to Hazel Street should begin after the Tulip Time Festival and be completed by mid-October.

The project will include a complete street reconstruction as well as changes to the water and sanitary sewer main.
