Spring programs are beginning at Lake Red Rock.

Nelson Hoskins, area birdwatcher and licensed bird bander, will help participants experience what the science of bird banding is all about Saturday morning. Mist nets will be set up around the visitor center to capture small birds, which will then be fitted with numbered leg bands to track their movements if recaptured at some point in the future. Bird Banding takes place from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Lake Red Rock Visitor Center.
