Central College graduate Joe Jones is planning on returning to Pella to talk with students about his latest video project.

Jones was a cinematographer for a film titled Lakay which follows the journey of two Haitian brothers as they try to reconnect with family after losing touch because of the earthquakes in 2010.

Jones tells KNIA/KRLS news his experience at Central College enhanced his awareness of diversity and gave him the tools to understand the culture in Haiti.

“Once you have that instilled and you go to another country, it is very helpful in terms of your empathy and understanding the universal human connection that exists abroad,” says Jones.

Jones will be assisting several classes for current theatre students.
