Residents and visitors alike packed downtown Pella over the weekend as the first round of tulips reached peak bloom.

City of Pella parks staff says despite the large number of flowers beginning to reach their peak, a number of buds have yet to bloom.

They anticipate a lot of color for the festival, but also a lot of visitors enjoying those already showing if the weather stays warm over the next two weekends.
