Knoxville Police responded to a report of domestic abuse assault with injury on Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics emergency room where a woman said she was a victim of assault at her home on West Larson Street. Officers observed cuts and abrasions on the woman’s back. Zackory Vernon of Knoxville was found at the residence and admitted to repeatedly shoving the woman onto the floor and into a couch after an argument became heated. This is Vernon’s third domestic abuse charge, making this instance a class D felony.
