Central College Sustainability staff and students made efforts throughout the week to recognize Earth Day on campus.

Coordinator of Sustainability Education Giselle Bruskewitz tells KNIA/KRLS a large number of activities were held to inform those at Central and in the community about sustainable practices.

“We had events that were focused on the arts, we had the All Iowa Foods Day, which is a tradition that happens every semester, where we bring in local farmers and producers to shake the hand that feeds you,” Bruskewitz says.

“We’ve had volunteer days at the garden, today we hosted a waste sort outside of Maytag, and we’re also hosting a bike repair day.”

The college will hold its annual service day on Tuesday, which features students helping throughout the area community.
