Only one stroke separates Central’s men’s golf team from Luther after the first round of the Iowa Conference tournament. Played at the Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, the Dutch shot a first-round 301, which is 13 over par. Senior member of the Dutch, Walker Adams, is tied for the individual lead after shooting a 73, good for one over par. Wartburg is close behind with a total team score of 309, followed by Dubuque and Simpson, who are each tied at 315. Chris Beaubien was right behind Adams, carding a score of 75, as did Jared Nepomuceno. Day two is also played at Finkbine in Iowa City and will get underway later this morning.
