Central College mustered just four hits Saturday afternoon and was swept in a softball doubleheader by Luther 1-0 and 4-0. Norse hurlers Amanda Witzlib and Samantha Bratland each allowed just two hits in their complete game shutouts, but Dutch Coach George Wares says that the story was just as much about the terrific Luther defense. Luther is now 32-2 overall and well out in front in the Iowa Conference standings at 9-1. Central drops to 21-13 and 7-5 in the league. The Dutch host Wartburg for Senior Day next Saturday at the Kuyper Athletic Complex.
