Turkey hunting season is underway.

Bow season runs until May 2 and four short seasons will be open for shotgun hunters, while bow hunters may hunt during any of the seasons until Turkey season ends May 2. Jim Coffey with the Iowa DNR tells KNIA/KRLS News hunters should be aware of other hunters who may be in the same area. Coffey says hunters should follow the rules provided by the DNR, and safety comes first. Hunters are required to report their turkey harvest online or by calling the DNR.
