The Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad knew that if things fell right last night at the South Central Conference Meet, they could steal the title. Well, things more than fell right as the Panthers stormed to the title with 158 points beating runner-up Albia by 23 points and third place Davis County by 64 points to win the S-C-C Championship. Kendrea Richardson was a triple winner taking the 100, 200, and 400s and Cassidy Pearson took first in the discus while the 4×200, 400, 800 and distance medley teams were crowned conference champions. Assistant Coach Michael Splavec told KNIA/KRLS Sports every athlete was ready to compete last night. On the boys side running a bit shorthanded due to illness, the Panthers finished fifth. Trent Davis won the long jump and 110 hurdles. Coach Eric Kellar told KNIA/KRLS he was very proud of how his guys battled. The Panther teams will get one final regular season meet in next week at the Pella High Invitational.
