The Knoxville Police Department has received reports of scam phone calls.
A resident received a suspicious call wanting them to give the caller remote control of their computer to fix an issue. The scammer called himself Kenneth D. Brown and the number he was calling from was 304-743-8823. Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada advises citizens to double check any communication and to hang up and contact police with any information about fraudulent calls. Losada adds that most official communications will come through the mail.
