The Knoxville Police Department has selected a new Lieutenant.

Officer Corey Derby has been promoted and is expected to take on the responsibilities of the new position starting on June 1. Chief Dan Losada says Derby was selected in part because he is proactive, easy to get along with, and was highly recommended by the Civil Service Board.
