The Eagles’ number one doubles pair made up of Brooke Jorgensen and Rachel Tvedt were regional champions in their bracket and are going to state as well. Roozeboom and Tvedt are both making their second consecutive trip.

Metcalf told KNIA/KRLS Sports she was motivated since last year to be at state, and that it’s fulfilling to get to join Roozeboom and compete against some of the best high school players.

“Last year, I remembered how badly I wanted to go but actually tried to go in doubles last year,” she says. “Since I’m going as singles this year I think it will be really fun to go with Lily…I’m just really excited to play with her.”

Tvedt says she and Jorgensen have developed their chemistry throughout the season, and the chance to play with each other at state is special.

“Yeah, it’s been really good with me and Brooke, we play really well together–it helps that we’re really good friends.”

Singles and doubles play in Class 1A takes place at Byrnes Park in Waterloo on June 2nd and 3rd. PC’s Andrea Carballo and Abbie Vander Molen finished 3rd in doubles, and Knoxville’s Sami Thompson finished 3rd in the singles bracket. Pella and Pella Christian will compete in the regional team finals on Saturday.
