Near-perfect handoffs are what Coach Keith Anderson attributed to his Pella Christian girls’ 4 x 100 meter relay team performance yesterday in Des Moines. The girls came in ranked 13th in time from the state qualifying meet last week, but blew past expectations and took third place and qualified for today’s finals. Elizabeth van Manen also went sixth in the discus throw in her third year participating in the event as an Eagle. Today’s Class 2A final in the 4 x 100 meter relay will be the last event the Eagles will run in the 2016 track and field season. It’s scheduled to begin at roughly 3:05 p.m.
