Melcher-Dallas Saints jumped out to an early lead on Mormon Trail and captured a 12-2 victory on Tuesday at MD Sports Complex. The game was decided quickly as Melcher-Dallas exerted its will early with eight runs in the first three innings. A bases loaded walk, a passed ball, a passed ball, an RBI double by Emillie Krpan, and a groundout by Jessica Anderson during the second inning supplied the early offense for The Saints. Melcher-Dallas’ Anndee Clark was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. She singled in the third, fourth, and sixth innings.
Krpan’s seven strikeouts helped Melcher-Dallas’ to the victory. Krpan allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk over six innings. Melcher-Dallas is now 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in Bluegrass Conference play. The Saints are scheduled to travel to Orient-Macksburg tongiht.
