The Knoxville Baseball Squad finally got to change the zero in the wins column into a two last night after blasting Eddyville-Blakesburg in a double-header 10-0 in game one and 12-3 in game two. Ben Wallace was outstanding on the mound and at the plate for the Panthers in game one as he went all five innings allowing no runs on just three hits and striking out eight. Added to that he went 2/3 with five RBI and a towering home run in the third inning. The Panthers fell behind 1-0 to the Rockets in the nightcap, but that deficit was short-lived when Knoxville put three runs across in the second inning highlighted by a Blake McClung two RBI double. Cam Liston earned the win in game two going 4 2/3 innings allowing two runs on five hits, walking none and fanning eight Rockets. After the twin bill, Coach Joel Johnson told KNIA/KRLS Sports the first games of the season are going to be a learning experience for his young team. Knoxville improves to 2-3 on the season and 2-0 in the South Central Conference. Knoxville is back in action Tuesday at home against Centerville.
