3M has begun construction on an expansion project which will keep 52 jobs in Knoxville from a discontinued product line and add 10 more jobs.
Governor Terry Branstad toured the facility last year and commented on the pride he felt over being able to partner with the company in order to keep jobs in Iowa through state incentives. The City of Knoxville also pitched in $72,000 in Tax Incentive Funds to help pay for the project. According to city officials, those funds are drawn from money that will eventually return to the city as a result of the expansion.
