Marion County roads are buckling in some locations due to extreme heat and humidity.
Jeff Moon with the Marion County Road Department tells KNIA/KRLS News when the county is first notified of buckling, crews saw out cracks and fill them with temporary concrete patches until more permanent repairs can be made. As soon as possible, crews then return to the location and use a concrete saw to cut out larger sections and then use a backhoe to remove them. New concrete is then poured for a more permanent repair. Moon says 5 or 6 sections have blown out in the last 3 days and advises motorists who see a breach to report it the road department as soon as possible.
