Two masterful performances from Tyler Hillman and Grant Judkins on the mound pushed Pella High to a sweep of Dallas Center – Grimes on Friday night. Hillman took a no-hit bid into the late innings, but settled for a 10 – 5 win by his team. He threw six innings, striking out seven, and allowing two earned runs. Lucas Hileman had two singles and drove in three runs and Judkins had a pair of hits, including a double. It was all Grant in game two, dominating the Mustangs with a two-hit shutout and a 6 – 0 Pella High victory. Judkins struck out 12 batters and the offense had eight hits behind him, including two doubles from Hillman and a pair of RBI, and Avery Van Zee had an RBI double. Little Dutch head coach, Jesse Jablonski, said it was an entire team effort that led them to a sweep of a conference rival. Pella High improves to 15 – 4 this year and 10 – 0 in conference play. They lead the league by four games with eight left to play, and they’ll take the momentum with them to Williamsburg for a pair of game later today.
