Seven Knoxville organizations received monetary awards last night from the Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation.
In a ceremony held at the Grand Theater nearly $27,000 was distributed in grants for projects that will make a lasting mark in Knoxville. President Maggie Hamilton-Beyers says it is important to support the efforts of community organizations to secure Knoxville’s future. The Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation is supported by donations and bequests from those who want to see the community continue to thrive.

Grand Theater Foundation – facade improvements and lighting equipment
Knoxville Community School District – school garden at Northstar Elementary
Knoxville Community School District – landscaping at West Elementary
Knoxville Morning Kiwanis – Young’s Park Miracle Playground
Knoxville Music Boosters – band uniforms
Knoxville Performing Arts Center – sound equipment at KPAC
National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum – display units
