The Pella City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance to raise water rates at their meeting last night.

The council discussed a 7% bump as part of an annual review of financing for the city’s $16 million long term water supply plan. They also set a public hearing for July 19th to award a contract for the last major component of the city’s underground electric conversion in the Central College neighborhood.
