The Pella Christian baseball team is hoping to make the first of two trips to Principal Park this season.
Ballard is also coming to the home of the I-Cubs today for a special non-conference match up.
Head Coach Nathan Johnson told KNIA/KRLS Sports the program has yet to play at the field since he’s started as a head coach, but felt it was important to give his players the chance to experience the home of the state tournament.
“I know they’ve done it in the past and it’s something I really wanted to try to get at least the guys who came in as freshman and didn’t play, to get them that opportunity to play at Principal Park,” he says.
The Ballard Bombers have lived up to their mascot so far this year, averaging over seven runs per game.
Our coverage from Principal Park begins at 10:45 a.m. on KRLS2 at kniakrls.com, with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.
