A pair of close games did not go the way of the Mustangs last night as both the Softball Team and Baseball Team fell to Gilbert in walkoff fashion 4-3 and 5-4 respectively.
The Softball squad had Kayla Jennings starting in the circle and she would take the loss for the Mustangs, and offensively they were paced by Jayci Vos going 2-3 at the dish with a run scored. The loss rounds out the regular season for the Mustangs and they end with an 11-17 record and will play against C-M-B on Wednesday in the first round of regional play. The Baseball team had an early 2-0 lead but that would vanish on a three run fourth for Gilbert. Down a run in the seventh, the Mustangs would tie the game and hope for extra innings, but Gilbert would put one across for the win. Clay Cooper and Austin Brown both had a pair of hits for the Mustangs who fall to 10-16 on the season. With their conference slate wrapped up, PCM will have a week of local rivalries upcoming as they face both Pella and Pella Christian.
