A Knoxville woman has been arrested for allegedly drawing unemployment for three years while she was working at a local business.
Amanda Rae Heck was charged with fraudulent practices in the first degree, a class C felony. Heck drew unemployment from September of 2012 until November of 2015 while working in Knoxville. Heck received more than $15,000 in benefits over the three year period by allegedly falsely reporting her employment status each week. The state has assessed a 10% penalty, making the total owed in excess of $18,000. Lieutenant Aaron Fuller was contacted by a representative with Iowa Workforce Development about the offense on June 29. Heck was terminated by her workplace after her arrest.
