While they weren’t severe, strong storms blew through the eastern half of Marion County overnight.
The line of heavy rain dropped .60″ of rain in Pella, .76″ at Lake Red Rock, and .2″ at our KNIA/KRLS studios in Knoxville. A wind gust of 54 MPH was recorded at the Mile Long Bridge at 2:45 a.m.
According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, a slight risk of severe weather exists today and an enhanced risk has been issued for Thursday.
A slight risk means conditions are favorable for scattered severe storms, and an enhanced risk means a more persistent, widespread system may move into the area. Hail, winds, and heavy rain are the primary threats.
