The Pella City Council is collaborating with Vermeer Corporation on a project aimed to bolster infrastructure along the Vermeer Mile.
They set a public hearing date for July 19th for upgrades to the sewer system on Vermeer Road between 240th and 250th Place. City Administrator Mike Nardini says the city intends to purchase the equipment, and Vermeer will install the upgrades.
Nardini tells KNIA/KRLS News the public-private partnership will save the city half of the overall cost, which is going to likely be around $240,000, according to the engineers’ estimates. Additional upgrades in collaboration with Vermeer Corporation along that stretch of road are also planned later this year.
