Nearly perfect July weather greeted runners and walkers participating in the 5th annual Red Rock Balloonfest 5K Saturday morning.
Race organizer Mike Buchheit tells KNIA/KRLS News over 200 participants and more than 50 sponsors raised over $12,000 for local athletic programs at Pella, Pella Christian and Knoxville High School.

Jaclyn Holmes, a Pella Christian student, won the overall female competition as an 11-year-old. The young girl from Tracy says she was excited to participate and win among the adults.
“I’m only eleven years old and I made it, so I think it’s awesome,” she says.
