The Park Rangers with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reinforces a message of being safe when in and around water after Sunday’s tragic drownings.
Assistant Operations Manager Joshua Conrad reminds anyone enjoying Lake Red Rock, the Des Moines River, and any other body of water when swimming and boating to wear a life jacket.
Conrad also encourages supervision and to let others know when planning to go out on the water alone.
He says Sunday’s’ drownings were the first at Lake Red Rock in over four years, and he’s hopeful that water safety precautions will prevent another incident in the coming years.
