Looking at raw stats from this season you can easily see how much pure talent the PCM Mustang Baseball team has on its roster returning for next season.
Junior Braden Phifer led the team in batting average with a .337 and also had eight doubles and 15 RBI, while sophomore Noah Henkenius looks to be the team’s number one starter for next season. One area the Mustangs have to improve upon however is not making errors out in the field in key situations in key games. Just looking at the three Roland-Story games the Mustangs played in this season, the combined score was 14-6 against a team that was ranked in the top 10 all season. Only six of those runs were earned however, so the Mustangs know that if they can fix easily correctable errors they can compete with the top teams in class 2A. The Mustangs ended the season with a 12-18 record, and a full recap of the Mustangs season can be heard on the Knoxville Hyvee Radio Coaches Corner in the coming weeks.
