A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through the evening for Marion County.
Scattered showers and storms are expected to pass through this morning and afternoon, with heavy rain possible. Rainfall rates of up to 3″ per hour are possible with some storms, which will cause reduced visibility and ponding of water on roads. Wet soil from recent precipitation can also cause additional runoff.
The watch means conditions are favorable for localized flooding due to precipitation and the potential for rivers to rise rapidly. Jasper and Warren Counties are also listed in the watch area.
