The Library Summer Reading Program celebrated its end for the summer with an Outdoor Day celebration yesterday.
The event included games, face painting, miniature train rides and popsicles. Children picked up the prizes they had won for reading throughout the summer. Holly Shelford with the Knoxville Public Library says the event celebrates the children’s accomplishments and gets them outdoors. The next big children’s event for the library will be the beginning of Story Time in September.
